Scoring & Professional Expectations

Guides score each performance round across four performance categories and two life-skills categories. Each category is worth up to 10 points, for a maximum of 60 points per Guide and 180 total points per round.

In plain terms, one-third of an artist’s overall score is based on more than talent or stage performance. It reflects the life skills that shape a successful artist and professional: time management, including arriving and submitting materials on time; accountability, including being fully prepared on show day; offstage presence, including how they treat others; and character, including how they conduct themselves and what they stand for.
